February 13, 2014

Customized car wraps can be a way for a business or an individual to display advertising/messaging that can reach an audience that otherwise might not be exposed to their brand. Celebrities, in particular, have been known to be creative in the ways that they customize their car wraps.
The car wraps are eye catching and will cause people to do a double-take when they first see them. Celebrities are often all about finding ways to get attention and ways to stand out, so more often than not their choices of anything, including car wraps, will be flamboyant. But more than anything, the celebrity car wraps listed below have caught the media’s attention, which was probably the ultimate goal of the celebrity in the first place.
In car-crazed cities like Los Angeles, it’s even more important for celebrities, and even non-celebrities, to find ways to make their car stand out from the crowd. But celebrities from past and present have found inventive and colorful ways to customize their vehicles with car wraps.
One: Sylvester Stallone
Sylvester Stallone was a major action star in the seventies and eighties. He cultivated a tough guy image, and was best known for being the star of the blockbuster movies “Rocky” and “Rambo.” He carries his in-your-face attitude with his customized car wrap on his Ford Mustang GT, which features black on the top of the car, red on the rest of the car, and intricate metallic detailing around the sides of the car that resemble intertwined metal and steel.
Two: Snooki
On the complete opposite end of the spectrum from Sylvester Stallone’s macho persona is Snooki. She is best known for being the breakout star of the reality television show “Jersey’s Shore.” She had her Cadillac EXT customized with a snakeskin wrap and pink accents. Again, just like Stallone, Snooki customized her car so that everyone would know about her flamboyant personality and celebrity status.
Three: Mario Balotelli
Mario Balotelli is lesser known in the United States, but he is an Italian professional footballer who has achieved international fame as an athlete. He customized his Bentley Continental SuperSports with a camouflage pattern that is commonly found on army pants and other gear for concealment. Perhaps he chose camouflage to show that he is always ready for battle, since he’s an athlete. But the idea of taking a well-known pattern and applying it as a custom car wrap can create a bold and striking statement.
Four: Flo Rida
Flo Rida is a rapper who took Mario Balotelli’s idea one step further, by having his car wrapped so that it looked like a gigantic piece of gold (pictured above). There is unquestionably something flashy and mesmerizing about gold, and Flo Rida made sure that whenever he drove that car people would take notice, and used a golden car wrap to convey wealth and style.
Five: Ollie Locke
Ollie Locke is a British television star and is also extremely patriotic. This is deducted, because Ollie had his car wrapped entirely with the UK flag. So he unquestionably wanted to convey his extreme love of being British and his patriotism. Showing patriotism with a customized car wrap is a pretty powerful and unapologetic way to show your allegiance. Ollie Locke felt strong enough about his country that he chose to wrap his car with the flag.
Car wraps are powerful tools to convey messaging and branding to a mass amount of people. Celebrities have customized their own vehicles to make a statement about themselves, their brand, and even their patriotism. These are all interesting choices that are worth copying for anyone who wants to make a big, bold statement that reaches many people.
