Ford is one of the biggest and well-known American automotive companies. Still headquartered in Michigan, Ford continues to make advancements in car technology. The latest involves the Ford Mustang, one of their most successful and trademark cars.

New and more polished versions of the Mustang keep coming out. And the latest version of Ford’s popular car was unveiled at a tech show in Taiwan, not a car show. This was an interesting choice by Ford, and shows that they wanted to make a statement about how smart the latest version of the Mustang has become. Car technology, like all technology, continues to evolve at a breakneck pace.

The ‘AppLink’ Voice Control System

Central to the benefits of the new Ford Mustang, is the ‘AppLink’ voice control system. It will be available in three major Asian markets next year:

  • New Zealand
  • Taiwan
  • Thailand

Voice control is the basis of what makes the ‘applink’ system so powerful and user friendly. Drivers of the vehicle will be able to control their chosen apps with the sound of their voice.

Besides being fun and convenient, these voice capabilities will dramatically increase safety for the driver. Instead of having to fumble around and not focus on the road to control their apps, they can simply use voice control and stay focused on the road.

Safety Features

Another enhancement for the safety of the driver is another feature of the app, which are the first responder capabilities. Drivers can be assured that if a serious accident were ever to happen, they or another injured person will immediately have their GPS provide location details to emergency responders.

At the Taiwan tech show demos of all these cutting edge features were shown to attendees, giving a preview of a car they could potentially own one day.

Elevating How Cars Are Viewed

Instead of just being viewed as ways to get around, cars are becoming elevated in the tech world, as witnessed by the unveiling of the recent Ford Mustang in the Asian markets. Now people are starting to expect that there are smart cars, like there are smart phones.

It’s not just enough to have a stylish car, but now the car has to be able to be seamlessly integrated into every aspect of a person’s life, from the driver’s favorite apps, to making sure that the safety of the driver and passengers is maximized. Mustang is considered a classic American car, and with its latest version, it is also embracing the high-tech world so that it can be keep up with a competitive market.

Success Of ‘AppLink’

Ford claims that thus far the ‘AppLink’ has been very successful, and customers have loved the advanced features. They are excited about rolling out the features for more major Asian markets. The ‘AppLink’ technology has been perfected to the point where international markets are able to use the technology to enhance their lives on a regular basis.

Since Mustangs have been released millions have been sold, and it has become an enduring consumer favorite. And now with the incredibly impressive technology, the Mustang seems like it will only continue to grow in popularity, particularly on an international level.

Car Technologies Of The Future

Now that the ‘AppLink’ technology has been successfully rolled out, making the Ford Mustang the smartest version yet, it’s inevitable that the technology will only continue to become more advanced. While such things as self-driving cars may be somewhat far away in the future from being released in the consumer market, other technologies that increase safety have been rapidly advancing.

For example, cars will probably soon be able to communicate with each other to avoid potentially dangerous accidents. Ford wants to show the Asian market they are committed to investing many resources in continuing these advancements.
