Milo’s Kitchen Treat Truck Blends A Food Truck And Dog Treats
July 14, 2014

Food trucks have become increasingly popular around the country. We recently featured the 5 best cities to find food trucks. They provide an easy and mobile way for up and coming chefs to provide consumers with delicious, and often unique, dining experiences. A new and different food truck is making its way around the country: Milo’s Kitchen Treat Truck. This truck offers natural and gourmet food for man’s best friend, along with other special dining experiences.
The Food
Milo’s Kitchen Treat Truck will offer canines free samples of the company’s chicken meatballs and grilled burger bites. The dog treats are made with all natural ingredients, with no artificial colors or flavors. They are also made with domestically sourced meat to ensure the highest-quality ingredients. The treats are available to try while enjoying the truck’s other amusements or to take home.
Milo’s Kitchen believes that dogs deserve the same high-quality food as their owners, so they use 100 percent real meat as the number one ingredient. The treats and snacks do not just look and taste like meat or jerky; they actually are. Milo’s Kitchen is a brand that falls under Heat Pet Brands, which is headquartered in San Francisco. Heat Pet Brands is the largest standalone producer, marketer, and distributor of premium quality pet food and snacks in America. Other Heat Pet Brands include Milk-Bone, Meow Mix, and Kibbles ‘n Bits.
The Dining Experience
The truck offers more than just a dining experience for dogs; it also provides owners and their pets a fun and social experience. There will be a photo booth so that owners can take pictures with their pet, which the company is dubbing a “canine selfie.” Owners can easily share their photos with others online via social media.
The photo booth will be dog friendly, so it will be easy to take a photo. Additionally, there will be a Lapdog Lounge, a fenced in area with seating and other amenities. There will also be toys, drinking bowls, dog beds and more for dogs to enjoy. Additionally, the truck provides an area for owners and dogs to play and interact with one another. There will also be personalized giveaways.
The Tour
The Milo’s Kitchen Treat Trucks began their tour in San Francisco before heading south towards San Diego with stops in Los Angeles and Orange County, and then will drive across the rest of the country. It will visit 15 cities around the country, including Phoenix, Detroit, New York and Chicago. Most of the stops will be in local dog parks and other dog-friendly areas, making it easy for dog owners to find the truck during their regular dog-walking time.
For further information about the tour and where the truck is stopping, visit the company’s Twitter page (@MilosKitchen) or website. Although parts of the schedule are already set, they will be constantly updating their Twitter feed with the latest information. The Twitter page and website also features photos and reviews from those who have already experienced the food truck.
The Milo’s Kitchen Treat Truck is more of a marketing strategy rather than an actual food truck that will be consistently selling doggie treats. The company is taking advantage of the mobility and convenience of a food truck to bring their treats to dog owners around the country where they actually are: dog parks and similar areas.
If Milo’s Kitchen is successful, perhaps it will inspire others to likewise bring gourmet doggie treats to local dog parks with a real food truck for dogs. Regardless, it is offering dog owners around the country a unique and fun experience this summer, along with the chance to try Milo Kitchen’s dog treats.
