July 16, 2014

The Volkswagen Scirocco is not a rare car, if you just want a standard factory model and live in a country where it is manufactured. However, in a country like China where the car must be imported, the car becomes a rare find. The 1.4 TSI and 2.0 TSI engines provide the car with speed and capabilities of the car makes it a car used in some racing circuits, after being upgraded and personalized.
These cars have become increasingly popular with young single men in China who want a sports car, so they spend the money to import them into the country. These young men enjoy the sharp shapes of the coupe over the other Volkswagen models, such as the Golf. Sightings of these very rare racing models occasionally occur, to the enjoyment of car enthusiasts and passersby.
Wufang Tianya Automobile Parts City
At Wufang Tianya Automobile Parts City in Beijing, a speedy Volkswagen Scirocco racecar was recently spotted, which belonged to a nearby shop owner. This car has raced in the Northern Touring Car Elite, which is a local cup from north and northeastern China tracks.
This VW racing car had a hefty body kit, a giant front lip, side skirts, a lowered suspension, and wheels with 12-spoke alloys. What really made the car stand out was the black and orange paint job with flames down the side to really impress the competition. The car featured a tuned version of the 2.0 TSI engine, which gave it 350 horsepower. It is rare to see a true racing Scirocco in the streets of Beijing, rather than just painted and personalized models.
Shopping Mall in Beijing
Another tuned Scirocco racing model was seen in a shopping mall in Beijing. The paint remained the original white, but it was finished in matte black wrap and also had orange side strips along the entire length of the body to provide a racing feel. It also featured stickers of a Chinese dragon with red eyes and large horns. The orange also featured on the mirror casings and the radiator grille. It had the stock wheels. Although this car mimicked a racing car, it most likely did not truly race in any events.
Chengdu in Sichuan Province
Another speedy version of the Scirocco was spotted in Chengdu in Sichuan Province. This Scirocco did not just have a car wrap, a custom paint job was done to the car. It had lowered suspension, matte black mirrors, a black grille, black stripes under the doors, and black tires that featured double-five spoke alloys. The rest of the car was painted purple. The purple and black combination gave it an interesting look.
Spotting more Scirocco
As the car becomes more and more popular in China, car enthusiasts spot more versions of the Scirocco. Even though the car is very expensive to import to China, it has become popular among certain crowds, which has led to more versions on the street. When these men import the car, they often add their own personal touches.
There have already been instances of the car in various upgrades, body kits and paintjobs being spotted around the country in colors such as black, orange, and pink, as well as cars with spoilers and other additions. However, most of these cars, although capable of certain speeds, are not true racecars. The spotting of the car in Wufang Tianya Automobile Parts City was truly special, as not only was it a tricked out Scirocco, it was also one that had done well in the racing circuits. The spotting of that car was truly a very rare occurrence in China.
