Stunning to look at and sporting the most recent innovations, concept cars are a peek into the future of where the industry is heading. In 2013-14 there were many eye-catching concept cars. Here are ten notable concept cars that created buzz.

One: BMW Concept X5 eDrive Hybrid Electric

Presented at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2013 the BMW Concept X5 eDrive Hybrid Electric is a SUV that is gas-efficient and stunning to look at. BMW is a German automobile manufacturing company that is associated with quality, luxury vehicles. 

Two: 2014 Audi Quattra Concept

The Audi Quattra concept’s goal is to be lighter in weight and impressively fuel efficient. Sleekly designed, Audi is another German-based automobile manufacturer and is known for its slogan “Truth in Engineering.” 

Three: 2013 Jaguar C-X75

This concept car was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September 2013. While impressively streamlined and beautiful, it has a staggering price tag of over one million dollars. If ever brought into production, this means that the Jaguar C-X75 will only be attainable by the richest of people. 

Four: 2013 Cadillac ATS

The Cadillac ATS made its debut at the L.A. Auto Show in 2013. A smaller version of the Cadillac, the ATS is built to have a lighter chassis to have better acceleration. The Cadillac Motor Car Division is part of the General Motors Company, and has been at the forefront of advancements in car manufacturing, being one of the most classic and oldest brands. Their famous catchphrase is “Standard of the World.” They are based in the United States and were founded in 1902. 

Five: Toyota Driver Awareness Research Vehicle

The Toyota Driver Awareness Research Vehicle concept was built directly to address the future of car technology, a super-hot topic. Created in collaboration with Microsoft Research, the vehicle includes cutting-edge technology. For example, the car includes voice controls, and a display that lists daily relevant information, like weather, schedule, and traffic reports. 

Six: Fort Edge Concept

The Fort Edge Concept addressed the latest topic of interest in self-automated vehicles. Unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Fort Edge Concept is partially self-automated, which includes parking assistance for senior citizens and obstacle-avoidance system. The general belief is that while fully self-automated vehicles are still years away, vehicles will start carrying more self-automated features. 

Seven: Mercedes AMG Vision Gran Turismo

Out of all the concept cars on this list, the Mercedes AMG Visio Gran Turismo may be the most stunningly beautiful. Looking like it comes straight out of a futuristic science fiction movie, the Turismo may not be sold to the public anytime soon, but it wowed the LA Auto Show audience. 

Eight: Subaru Legacy Concept

The Subaru Legacy Concept is a bit more low-key than the other cars on display. It has a sportier look and a sleek metallic paint.

Nine: Shelby Raptor

The Shelby Raptor stands out from the other cars because it’s a pickup truck and built for driving over rough terrain. Strong and powerful, the Shelby Raptor has striking blue and silver graphics and a custom interior. For pickup truck enthusiasts the Shelby Raptor seems like a great choice. 

Ten: Volkswagen Design Vision GTO

The Volkswagen Design Vision GTO has a unique design with its sliced sides and “supercar” capabilities. The front of the car has a similar sliced design, giving it a distinctive look.
